Pukemanu Boating & Fishing Club has been operating in the South Wairarapa for 21 years now. Our main launching areas are Sandy Bay off Te Awaite Road from Martinborough and out of Ngawi near Cape Palliser. Both fisheries are some of the best our country has to offer.
We like to think our club is operating to assist like-minded fishing people and is a contributing member to our wider community. To this end we actively support the local Martinborough Volunteer Fire Brigade, Cape Palliser Marine Radio, Life Flight Trust and take a kid fishing initiatives where we take children from our local schools on a charter each year to introduce them to our great fishery and check out water safety. Children under 16 are allowed free membership to our club providing a parent, guardian or grandparent is an existing member. Our annual fishing competition has contributed close to 10k to the fire brigade in recent years. We offer support to life flight by organising local collections on appeal day when possible.
Our members benefit from membership with a year full of activities such as club competitions, inter-club competitions, subsidised Xmas dinner, fishing charters, txt advice of club competitions/weather and sea condtions, access to tractor membership for Ngawi launching, annual fishing competition with over 10k of prizes up for grabs and the benefits of being a member of the IGFA which allows entry into most fishing competitions without having to be a member of the host club.
Our monthly club weekend competition puts $350.00 worth of local sponsor’s business vouchers up for grabs with first second and third prizes, average angler, average terakihi and blue cod also winning great prizes. Our sponsors are highlighted throughout this site, they have been of huge support to our club over many years.
