Life flight to the rescue
Unfortunately for Barry Whitney the day wasn't without incident. While disembarking one of the challenge boats he slipped catching his foot in the trailer cradle resulting in severe leg injuries. Barry and PBFC would like to thank all the people involved in assisting him from his predicament, including the locals at Riversdale, paramedics, Riversdale volunteer fire brigade, doctors, ambulance service, life flight Palmerston North and Wellington Hospital where Barry is getting ongoing medical care. Thanks guys and girls you all helped marvellously at a critical time. Barry will be receiving ongoing medical treatment and possibly another operation this week. We are sure he will be back on deck once the filleting and washing of boats is all complete!!! All the best Barry.
